The Friends Diamond Jubilee Appeal has got off to a great start with two Rugby lads, Adrian Hartopp and Paul Davison, abseiling 112 feet from the dome of the West Orchard Centre in Coventry

They raised over £600 (including Gift Aid) and hopefully more money will pour in with the evidence of their courage.

Paul said ‘Ok so it was an abseil down 6 floors but with my fear of heights that’s a minor detail. Anyway, I did it to raise money for the Friends of St Cross;  they’re a charity that support Rugby’s Hospital of St Cross where my mother-in-law underwent Rehabilitation after cardiac surgery.’

Adrian said ‘The money I raise will go to The Friends of St Cross. They are a fantastic charity who raise money to buy much needed equipment for various areas in the hospital. Your generosity is greatly appreciated for such a great charity.’
