The Choir and soloists

Over one hundred supporters enjoyed a superb a Spring Concert given by Rugby Male Voice Choir in St Andrews Parish Church on the 18th of April 2015.

The concert was attended by The Mayor, Councillor Ramesh Srivistava, who is the President of the Choir and who has selected the Friends as his Charity of the Year.  The event raised a fabulous £750 for the Friends of St Cross Diamond Jubilee Appeal through the sale of tickets, a raffle and drinks as well as extra donations given, as a parting gift, by an audience who were delighted by the excellent entertainment and value they enjoyed on the night. The drinks were kindly donated by Mike Hutton of the Rotary Club of Rugby Dunsmore which has raised over £5,000 for the Appeal.

The programme included a mixture of popular and spiritual songs given by the choir as well as an entertaining medley of British folk music played by Kevin Downham on his concertinas and accordion and a virtuoso clarinet performance by Melanie Green.
