Volunteers at the Day Surgery Help Desk are often asked if they know where staff or patients can find a wheelchair to help patients get around the hospital.
It appears that all too often folding chairs get taken home and are not returned. And so the Friends were happy to support a request for two additional sturdy chairs which cannot be loaded into car boots to extend the fleet already owned by the hospital.
The new chairs are clearly labelled that they belong to St Cross and are not intended for use by ambulance staff which avoids the risk of them being transferred to other hospitals where they may well benefit others but not patients in Rugby!
