The Rugby Male Voice Choir Spring Concert held in May was an extremely enjoyable evening with a varied programme guaranteed which got the audience's feet tapping and singing.
The choir is well supported in Rugby and the Choir's President is the Mayor of Rugby. Mayor, Cllr Sally Bragg, was joined by 4 former Mayors.
Guest instrumentalist, Melanie Green, is extremely talented and gave a stunning recital. The concert raised over £600 pounds for the Friends of the Hospital of St Cross which will be used to help fund specialist beds for patients at the hospital.
Willy Goldschmidt, Vice Chairman of the Charity said “This was the fourth concert in aid of the Friends given by the Choir since the launch of the Friends Diamond Jubilee Appeal and we look forward to their continued support. Another group which supported the Appeal is the Ladies of Hanover Gardens who recently donated a further £1,000 to the Charity. The Ladies achieved this through the sale of a variety of knitted goods and would appreciate donations of wool which will help them create more items for future sales. Please hand any wool you can spare into one of the Help Desks at St Cross.”
“We are delighted by this continued support as one of the objectives of the Appeal was to extend our engagement with the community and we look forward to reporting on more donations which will help us continue to make a difference.”
