The Medical Engineering and Bioengineering Service (MEBS) at St Cross has recently taken delivery of a foetal heart simulator which enables the technicians to calibrate heart monitors used by midwives at their clinics or home visits.
Now that St Cross has this device they no longer have to send monitors to a 3rd party for checking. Obviously, the turnaround is a lot quicker and so Rugby’s midwives are not left without this vital aid as the work can be done while they come to St Cross for team meetings or training.
Alan Williams of MEBS is pictured using the new device.
