Ladies from Ball of Yarn, a local group of knitters, auctioned some sample yarn and donated the £20 proceeds to the Appeal and have now offered to knit a menagerie for the ‘Name the cuddly toy’ fundraisers. The first Teddy was named at the Merchants Inn Pub Quiz on Monday 28th July and raised £40 in the process!
The ladies are pictured enjoying themselves at their regular Tuesday evening meeting – see their Facebook Group. Catherine Hanby, one of the groups’ leaders said “As a team of knitters we have done a lot of projects knitting for hospitals all over the UK. Now we are bringing it home and helping support our local hospital. Lots of our ladies have connections to the hospital and we decided to help with whatever we can.”
