An area outside the Physiotherapy suite at the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby has been transformed to help patient rehabilitation and staff wellbeing thanks to a £2,700 donation from the Friends of St Cross.
The donation saw a range of landscaping and plants added to the garden including herbs in planters, daffodils in the grassed bank and more, with forest bark to cover the beds as a finishing touch.
Diane Hawtin, Head of Therapy, said: “The Friends have transformed the area into one where staff can relax and patients can start to learn to use walking aids.
“The planting has been designed to have colour all year round and the planters have a range of herbs giving a sensory experience.”
Willy Goldschmidt, Chairman of the Friends of St Cross, added: “It was a pleasure to help brighten up this area of the hospital grounds and to know that it benefits staff and patients.
“We now have a team of dedicated volunteers who look after lots of the tubs and planting around the site.”
