The team at Paddox Methodist Church Hall

Volunteers organised 3 coffee mornings in September and raised an amazing £1,056 for the Diamond Jubilee Appeal!

Several girls from the Phlebotomy (Blood Taking) Team joined up with Friends volunteers to run a Cuppa and Crafts event at the Paddox Methodist Church Hall. The event was a great success raising £451 with a mixture of stalls including a Books and Jigsaws stall, a Lucky Dip , three Craft stalls and a Bric a Brac stall as well as the traditional Teas and Cakes stalls. One of our volunteers, Pauline Masterman organised the event and we would like to thank her, all the volunteers who helped on the day and donated items for sale and Alison Morgan, Community Life Champion at Asda, who donated cakes for the event.

The Mayor also dropped in on two other coffee mornings organised by Friends Volunteers. Audrey Allen is pictured with Claire Hunt presenting a cake to the Mayor at an event held in Ross Court, off Clifton Road in Rugby, which raised £380. Tony Cousins also organised a Cuppa and Book sale at Bilton Methodist Church which raised £225 and where Catherine Hanby of the Ball of Yarn Knitting Group had a stall and persuaded the Mayor to try his hand at French knitting using a loom on which Catherine has knitted over 100 hats for premature babies in the last fortnight!
