The 63rd ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the Friends of the Hospital of St. Cross was held on Wednesday 27th JUNE 2018.

Mike Rigby welcomed our distinguished guests and all those attending and introduced our first guest speaker
- Guest Speaker The Worshipful Mayor of Rugby – Cllr. Tom Mahoney who presented the Charity with a "Simple Thank You certificate"

On concluding his report David Roberts presented Professor Andy Hardy CEO of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust with a cheque in respect of the Charity's support for the Sleep Studies Project. Professor Hardy then gave a vote of thanks for the all the support that the Trust has received from the Friends volunteers and the many donations of equipment made over the year.

Election of President - Mike Rigby was duly re-elected

Election of Vice Presidents - The Mayor, Tony Cousins and Richard Green were elected as Honorary Vice Presidents

Election of Trustee Board - The undernoted members were elected en-bloc as Trustees for the following year

Guest Speaker: Professor Damian Griffin – Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Trust gave a most illuminating talk about the world class development of the Hip Preservation Service which he has led and is based at the Hospital of St Cross - unfortunately the presentation he gave is not currently available for publication on this website

Willy Goldschmidt thanked Professor Griffin and then proceeded to recognise
- Stan Bird and Pat Lines who are now life members
- Mike Rigby and Doris Froggatt who were winners of the Pride of Rugby Awards in 2017 and 2018 respectively - Mike's recognition was delayed as he was unable to attend the AGM in 2017!
- Karen Tomlinson for going the extra mile for the charity over and above performing her duties for the Trust

During Any Other Business there was news of the NHS 70th birthday celebrations and Professor Hardy distributed commemorative badges for those present and Kara Marshall and Supriya Bulchandani gave an update on the success of the FOCUS service which was announced at the previous year's AGM
