We are aiming to raise at least £65,000 so that we can continue making a difference for patients attending the Hospital of St Cross and the NHS Community Service in Rugby. We will publish, here and on social media, some reminders of the support you have enabled us to provide and some of the donations we receive towards the Appeal. Due to the pandemic the appeal was not launched until 1st October 2020 and will run until December 2021. Click here to donate!!

The friends receiving a cheque for £1700
L-R Willy Goldschmidt, Maureen Edwards and Heather Green

On Monday 24th November Heather Green and Willy Goldschmidt attended the AGM of the Warwickshire Women’s Bowls Association and were presented with a cheque for £1,700.

Maureen Edwards, President of the Association said that “I selected the Friends of St Cross as the President’s charity as I live in Rugby and wanted to support a charity that does so much for the community. Members of the association raised the money for the Friends in a wide variety of ways including holding raffles at matches throughout the year, selling glitter pens and one member of the committee did a sponsored swim. The members were delighted to hear about the progress of the Appeal and that the Hospital of St Cross carries out the majority of elective hip and knee surgery for patients in Coventry and Rugby and that the Friends have contributed to increasing the amount of equipment available for this and many other services.”
