We are aiming to raise at least £65,000 so that we can continue making a difference for patients attending the Hospital of St Cross and the NHS Community Service in Rugby. We will publish, here and on social media, some reminders of the support you have enabled us to provide and some of the donations we receive towards the Appeal. Due to the pandemic the appeal was not launched until 1st October 2020 and will run until December 2021. Click here to donate!!

The Friends have recently donated 4 bariatric chairs and an extra examination couch for use by patients attending the Diabetes Centre at the Hospital of St Cross.

Kim Swinhoe, Diabetes Specialist Nurse at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, said “The bariatric chairs are invaluable for the care comfort and dignity of our patients who are trying to lose weight”.

“The number of patients we are seeing in Rugby has increased significantly since the unit was opened and this extra examination couch has enabled us to better use another room in the building to meet this demand.”

Willy Goldschmidt, Chairman of the Friends, said “These donations fulfil two aims of the Charity in helping to improve the patient experience and also facilitating the increase in the use of the Hospital so that fewer patients have to travel for their treatment.”
