We are aiming to raise at least £65,000 so that we can continue making a difference for patients attending the Hospital of St Cross and the NHS Community Service in Rugby. We will publish, here and on social media, some reminders of the support you have enabled us to provide and some of the donations we receive towards the Appeal. Due to the pandemic the appeal was not launched until 1st October 2020 and will run until December 2021. Click here to donate!!

The Physiotherapy team, which is part of the world-leading Hip Preservation Service at St Cross, has taken delivery of a Shockwave unit.

Shockwave therapy is a non-surgical treatment, and works by delivering impulses of energy, targeted to specific damaged tissues within the abnormal tendon. This increases the blood flow within the affected area, stimulating cell regeneration and healing, and decreasing local factors which can cause chronic severe hip pain which cannot necessarily be resolved by surgery.
